In Petra. Entered a room hewn from rock and half bricked up. Amongst the rubbish I could hear scuttling. Picked up a bottle and saw that it contained about 20 dead black beetles, some of which were still alive. Puzzled as to why the beetles would crawl into a dry bottle, I shook it empty. To my horror, a black scorpion fell at my feet, and, looking very mean, came straight towards me. It followed me round the room. The living beetles scarpered. A scorpion in a bottle? The recent adversarial winds? Simply, an Aquarian man thinking astrologically is that.

Driving through Sinai today, one can understand why they say that monotheism is the religion of the desert. However, I think Sinai must have put an interesting spin on Egyptian monotheism for Moses because the mountains are so awesome and powerful and...er...the same. It seems fitting, therefore, that he went up a mountain here to converse with God and wrote the Ten Commandments in stone.
